What a Day Master and an element balance actually tell you

Your Day Master, the stem of your day pillar, is the closest thing BaZi has to "you" — read the rest of the chart in relation to it. The element balance shows how the five elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water) are distributed across your eight characters: whether your chart leans toward one or two elements, or sits closer to even. Neither one is a verdict; both are a starting point for reflection.

Why time and place matter

The day changes at midnight local time, not UTC, and near that boundary the wrong time zone can shift your day pillar by a full day. Your birthplace also feeds a true-solar-time correction that can move your hour pillar. A date-only estimate is a solid starting point; the free chart resolves both.

How accurate is this without my birth time and place?

Your Day Master (the day pillar) is usually correct from the date alone — it only shifts if you were born close to midnight. Your hour pillar needs a birth time, and full precision also needs your birthplace for a true-solar-time correction. The free chart adds both.
